    Agreed. Watching the girls at the wedding reception get grabbed might be a little alarming though.

    Surprisingly, some of those caravans look pretty sweet.

    That was disturbing, Renee. It also was painful seeing the reaction of the non-Traveler children when the little girl arrived at the communion ceremony.

    I think being part of a distinct culture within a larger culture must be very hard on kids. I see it in my neighbourhood a lot, but it’s nothing like this. I’ve also had a taste of it in the culture my father was brought up in. In a way conformity is comforting when you’re a kid.

    From what I’ve seen so far, the traveler lifestyle is not much different than being in a religious sect that puts women in a second class role. This just happens to be more glammy.

    Fascinating stuff.
