    I don’t think we are. I think the gap between those who are and those who aren’t is getting bigger.

    I’m pretty sure the gulf is getting bigger. But I’m not always sure how many are on either side.

    That’s what I meant. The gulf is getting bigger and most of the time I feel like those on the far side are fewer than the rest of us. Then I see hundreds of facebook posts about how the earthquake in Japan is retribution for Pearl Harbor (I don’t know what those people consider Hiroshima and Nagasaki) and I’m not so sure.

    Maybe I am just getting old, but I am having a lot more “we’re going to hell in a handbasket” moments in recent years… and reading the comments anywhere but here is only going to make you lose your faith in humanity.

    Until I found clusterflock I never read comments on a website. The idea of a space too vast to contain coherent conversation repels me. Then again, I helped build Y! answers. So, that could be worse.
