Is The Mighty Boosh Right for You?

Amanda introduced us to The Mighty Boosh, and Amy and I have finished the first two seasons. This Wikipedia quote might be all you need to know to decide if the show is right for you.

Fielding plays various other characters in the television show including: Tony Harrison, a small pink head with tentacles and member of the shaman council; The Hitcher, a cockney hitch-hiker with a polo mint for an eye, who enjoys “cutting people up”; Spider Dijon, a bongoist in Rudi’s band; and Old Gregg, a hermaphroditic merman obsessed with Bailey’s Irish Cream and water-colours, who is infatuated with Howard and possesses ‘The Funk’, a living creature about the size of a medicine ball, but covered in purple teats, which leak funky goodness to help music careers.

I think I liked the Boosh even more when they moved from the Zooniverse to the Nabootique.

The original radio series is quite good, too. There’s some overlap, but that doesn’t hurt. (Amazon has a disc, but I’m sure that it can be downloaded from places.)

I think I know what Andrew and I are watching tonight.

    Yes!

Involuntarily said “I’m old Greeeeeg!” outloud when I read that.

Preferred Zooniverse to Nabootique. I love Rich Fulcher too much.

Has Snuff Box already been promoted on here? Or am I remembering a plug for Darkplace?

I’d say that pretty much has my name on it.

Also overlap, but have you seen the live video? Or better yet, seen it in person (I have not had that chance, sadly)? Amazing what they pull off live!

Darkplace was plugged. More plugs coming soon.

yeah Cindy I tried to tell you about it at Cflockstock but Dave wasn’t sure if you would like it.

Boosh is my life. I’ve seen all the episodes at least 10 times each, and seen all the documentaries alive tour shows, etc. The boosh fandom is a crazy place, too.

I can sound a lot like Old Gregg if I try. I think this means that I have a mangina.

Dave wasn’t sure if I would like it? Since when does Dave know all that I like?

I’m pretty fucking sure I would like it.

“I tried to tell Cindy, but Dave wasn’t sure she’d like it.” That’s too rich.

    Also: yeah, Casey. Nabootique.
