Elaine Morgan, my new favorite octagenarian

Watch her. She’s intoxicating. I like her theory, I also like hearing her explain it.

I love this and her mention of Kuhn is spot on. I have always said (mind you, I come from a religious context), that I am fine accepting evolution as a paradigm but I must recognize that it is only a story to look at what we see (helluva lot better than that Creationist rot). If there is ever a better paradigm, I’ll chuck evolution for it’s better. I feel like this ought to be true for any paradigm.

This also makes one wonder about the common flood mythologies across cultures.

I remember watching this years ago. She seems nice…unfortunately that doesn’t have anything to do with the validity of what she’s saying.

The aquatic ape hypothesis is definitely ‘fringe’. A bit of a joke, really.

It explains my endless fascination with sea beasts for sure.
