Who does Google think you are?
So it thinks I’m a Comic-reading Political Humor enthusiast who listens to Classic Rock & Oldies, watches Online Video, likes Space Technology, has a Developer Job, uses Mac OS, and plays Video Games.
Which is completely wrong. I strongly dislike space technology.

GOOGLE, I READ BOOKS! I PROMISE!
The TV Guide is sort of a book.
This is just so odd considering the millions of other things I look at, TV stuff only takes up about half my browsing. But nothing else showed up?
You can manually add categories.
“Business & Industrial – Agriculture & Forestry – Livestock”
I’m so confused.
Home & Garden-Homemaking & Interior Decor
People&Society-Family & Relationships-Family-Parenting-BabyCare
Hmmm…I’m a soon to be aunt, so I guess that makes sense. And I look at all the links my sister sends me about furniture. Apparently they have no idea how much I love shoes.

Robert, are you trying to start a chicken coop or pig farm in your ‘hood?
They think I’m interested in baseball.
I’m 24-35. And female.
What a bunch of maroons.
Show ‘em your guy card.
My desktop, where I do mostly editing, says male, 55-64. My laptop, where I do most of my surfing, doesn’t list age or gender. Fuck you, old man.
Holy ____, Deron! I’m male, 25-34.
You want my youth card?
It’s for sale.
Cindy, I am, too! 25-34, female.
It doesn’t seem to know my age or gender, which is funny because it could easily guess correctly from the list of interests it knows.
Sheila, my desktop might. Right now I’m on the laptop, and busy sticking it to the man.
Me: Male. 25-34. Digs cult and indie films, experimental and industrial music, jazz and blues, indie and alternative music. Into visual art and design, books and literature (poetry). Likes cooking and recipes (especially Asian cuisine). Intrigued by myth and folklore.
Dang. Where was I when I needed me?
I don’t know, but this “Rick Neece” chick sounds kinda hot.
Joel, you are the unbridled Id of clusterflock.
That’s good right?
I’ll say.
Careful there, son. Don’t ask.
Id don’t need to ask.

So, how’d they miss the gay part?
I assumed that was what they meant by “Google does not associate sensitive interest categories with your ads preferences.”
I’m so glad they missed the “gay-porn” part.
Explained, then.
I’m not looking forward to the day when Google starts showing me ads based off my porn preferences.
Me too, neither, Joel.
I was laughing that I showed up male 35-44, then remembered I’m on one of the Iowan’s laptops.
“I’m not looking forward to the day when Google starts showing me ads based off my porn preferences.”
I am! ‘Cause that will conflibberate people even more than they are already if they think I am a 30-year-old dude.
I think an update of Polanski’s “The tenant” is long overdue — including online profiles like “woman prone to suicide.”
I was just thinking today that my day was somewhere between Polanski’s Repulsion and Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles.
Amae, you are so very right.
Also, M’sieu Glass: Oui.
Me, I am thinking Une femme sous influence (Cassavetes).
I accidentally-on-purpose turned off cookies for google. Which doesn’t seem like it should matter, since I’m always logged in to google.
