Meet the Flockers: Garrett Miller
I’ve been dipping my feet in the Flock waters for the last week, but the time is nigh to introduce myself. I’ve been a somewhat peripheral participant in Clusterflock for some time now, most notably my inadvertent naming of our esteemed anonymous account.
To keep it brief, I was raised on a sheep farm in Maryland, lived briefly in Ohio and have been spending my most recent years in Washington, D.C. I’m a designer and software engineer by day and spend my free time drawing on windows, illustrating, taking pictures, and spending far, far too much time on the internet.
My tastes are frighteningly in line with those of our own Andrew Simone. Hopefully the foot-stepping is minimal as I enter the Clusterflocking fray whole-heartedly.
At the height of the Battle of Alcaniz on May 23, 1809, as he was about to give the order for a desperate charge by French troops into the center of the Spanish line, Col. P.F.M.A. Dejean happened to glance down.

Here I was having a terrible morning, and then I logged in to my work computer and got on here. I just noticed my stress headache is gone. Why didn’t someone tell me about all y’all when I was in rehab or when I felt like dying? I’m glad someone told me about clusterflock or I just don’t know where I would be right now.

So this is a volatile world, a world in flux. In a sense Henry VII is typical of this age. He’s somebody who seems to come out of nowhere, seizes power and makes the throne his own.

We are trying to find a photo that someone took with a personal camera of Kate Mulgrew that would be appropriate to have it transferred to a birthday cake for a HUGE FAN of hers….Since Kate is from this area, thought it might be possible…. If you have a photo of Kate that I could borrow we would be so grateful! I would take it, get it copied and returned to you in an hour! I would need it today however…I know short notice…but I didn’t realize copyright laws on cake would be a problem. silly me.

The images are by renowned French photographer Sacha Goldberger, who decided to set up an outdoor studio in the Bois de Boulogne park in Paris to capture the cross section of society who use it for exercise. He stopped people as they ran and invited them to stand in front of a 3m² sheet of paper to be photographed. But wanting to capture them at their most off-guard, Sacha asked them to have a sprint immediately prior to being photographed. He then used the same team and equipment as on a high-level fashion shoot — complete with four assistants and studio-quality lighting. One week later, Sacha asked the joggers to wear similar clothes to his real studio. They would be photographed again using the same backdrop and lighting, but this time there would be a professional make-up and hair stylist on hand to make them look their very best.
