quotes out of context
“I would say, looking at the smaller countries like Luxembourg, that Pearl Mesta wasn’t sent to Luxembourg because she had big bosoms. Pearl Mesta went to Luxembourg because she made a good contribution,” Nixon said.
Who was this woman, about whom there are so many conflicting theories but next to no actual evidence, who died — the day after their wedding — as Mrs. Hitler?
The statistics on arranged marriage are surprising. In every country where it is still common practice, including Afghanistan, India, Iraq, Iran and, to a lesser extent, Japan, an arranged marriage has a higher success rate than a so-called “love marriage.”
Researchers have only recently begun to investigate her, but Dr Frohlich says the CT scanner has revealed her internal organs are intact.
By recording the eye movements of a hypnotized woman, and comparing them with those of nonhypnotized people, researchers say they have found evidence that hypnosis involves a special mental state, fundamentally different from normal consciousness.
“At the end of the day, all hypnosis is self hypnosis.”

I’ve had hypnosis to quit smoking twice now. I still need a nicotine patch to help with the cravings. When I’ve had hypnosis for other things, I find that I’m better at life and my job. A friend is trained in it, and I do a session at least once a year with her. I’m not good with meditation and guided hypnosis gets me “out of my mind and into my body,” the friend always says at the beginning of sessions. Plus, you can’t work at a place that has a 24 hour crisis line ringing and not take care of yourself.
Erica, I’ve been doing acupuncture lately, and it feels like it’s doing something similar.
I love acupuncture. I just haven’t found a good one here, yet. My old acupuncturist in Chicago used to send me home with spare needles and taught me how to treat myself. It was cool to cure a headache at the first sign by sticking a needle in my hand.
This is the first time I’ve done it, and I am very pleased.
Erica, aren’t you worried that someone will clap their hands three times and you’ll start clucking like a chicken? That’s what’s kept me out of hypnosis, at least. Now I’m really curious about self-acupuncture, though. That doesn’t sound dangerous at all.
Casey, I’ve been told I talk in my sleep, but I think that’s only when I’ve been drinking. The first hypnotist I went to was distracting since he had a wonderful speaking voice and was attractive. I lasted six hours before I lit up a cigarette. The second one was able to get me in such a relaxed state that our time together felt like she was just helping me help myself. Self-acupuncture isn’t recommended after drinking.
