And here’s a NSFW one.
Singular, no? Me sees the other lobe as a pregnant belly.
Oh, sure. It’s just more fun to say plural.
Starlingo. That’s a good’un, Derek.
Here’s the second series.
Holy (sturnus vulgaris) crap, but that is good.
. . . what I’m reading about the language of birds in the second series.
Derek, how long is the starling season?
Starling scat sample.
Derek? Damar? Fer real?
My spine is chilling.
Shiela, yes, as far as I can tell Damar is real. At first i questioned it, but watch a few other talking starlings, they are insanely creepy, beyond just mimicking.
Deron, the season pretty much ended this week, but I think last year it ended a bit earlier since it was colder. I would estimate Oct 15 to Dec 10 as the season, any evening in November you are guaranteed to see them.
I want to watch and listen to Damar again, but I am almost afraid.
Damar beats Pepper by a long shot.
Y’all, you can see the videos at Derek’s Starlingo ii post. Truly, they’re best seen in that context.
Yeah, Pepper’s lame, though the “chicken melt” bit is funny. Damar rules. I would love to get a starling, but it’s cruel to isolate them from a flock.
Can’t remember if this made the Clusterflock rounds, but these starlings remind me of the voice over in these Diluvio films.
Yes. Yes. I’m certain you posted one of the Diluvio films here a couple of years ago.
Waiting to happen.
Actually, now I am convinced that Damar did the narration for Diluvio’s “Lucía, Luis y el lobo” films.
Creepy, right? Which would mean Damar also speaks Spanish.
Uncanny, Derek — in the old sense of eerie. That really is practically the same voice and delivery.
And now that I am obsessively watching and listening to Damar, I am growing more and more distressed, especially by Damar’s repetition of “Damar.”
Torn from the flock, plunging into madness, asking over and over, “What is Damar? Who is Damar? What is Damar?”
Around 0:54: “Okay, there’s gonna be some more. Don’t ever . . . click click . . . Damar.”
