Farewell, Ben Gazzara (1930-2012)

Ben Gazzara died this afternoon, on the anniversary of the death of John Cassavetes on February 3, 1989.

    Jackie Treehorn. The first time I saw “Lebowski” (in Las Vegas!), Ben Gazzara’s apparition (in that white suit) nearly made me scream with pleasure.

    “Hello, Dude. Thanks for coming. I’m Jackie Treehorn.”

    It was so unexpected, and I liked to died.
