I once had a lawyer girl friend with whom I confided that my first wife told me that I was a really nice, kind and affectionate guy when I was lying down in bed but that when I got up I started thinking about business and making a living I got serious and I became shall we say a more serious and a less loving and affectionate type. The girlfriend told her civil rights lawyer friend, who was also my friend, the story. From that day forward the civil rights lawyer gave me the nickname VC. It was an acronym for “vertically challenged”. To this day when I see the civil rights she says: “Hey VC, what up,” as she begins her belly laugh. Being the good humored guy that I am I join her in the laugh.
