Middletown, Ohio Police Blotter

A furnace was stolen before 1:20 p.m. from a home in the 3900 block of Grand Avenue. The copper coil to the furnace, however, was not stolen. The home was vacant and multiple people have keys to the property.
A 36-year-old Middletown man was arrested at 5:38 p.m. in the 2700 block of Oxford State Road on suspicion of petty theft, criminal trespass and driving under suspension. The man took two heavy duty chains and two chain binders, valued at a collective $350, from a vehicle belonging to his former employer.
Someone stole a .9-millimeter pistol with three magazines, extra barrel and silencer, valued at $500, and a holster before 10:23 p.m. from a home in the 1900 block of Wellington Road.
A dishwasher, DVD/VCR combo television, radio and wires cut from several fans and electronics were stolen before 7:34 p.m. from home in the 3200 block of Morgan Street. Police believe entry to the home was through an unlocked window.
Someone had damaged several displays at Light Up Middletown at Smith Park, between midnight and 9 a.m. Someone had damaged the Santa Workshop display and a 20-foot fountain, seven deer and a tree with Christmas lights. Extra patrols will check the display overnight until it’s dismantled by workers.
A woman stole a bag of dog food at 6:46 a.m. from CVS on S. Breiel Blvd., while picking up a prescription for a Middletown man. The van the woman used was registered to the same man. Police were unable to make contact at his home.
A purse with $2,000, personal documents and credit cards was stolen before 11:52 a.m. from a vehicle parked in the 3700 block of Dixie Highway. The thief broke the driver’s side rear window.
Two televisions, a stereo, a lamp, numerous miscellaneous clothes and a picture of Bob Marley were stolen before 5:58 p.m. from a home in the 300 block of Garfield Street.
