Sing Slowly Sisters
This is mainly for Cooper. I finally located Robin Gibb’s unreleased solo album from 1970, Sing Slowly Sisters. I read about it several years ago in a Mojo article called something like “The Top 100 Most Insane Albums of All Time”. I don’t know if it’s insane, but it is lushly (over-)produced and makes the most of Robin’s “chipmunk” vocal style. I’m diggin’ it.
You Gonna Miss Him?
Roky Erickson, Texas legend and originator of the phrase “psychedelic rock”, is going to play his first Dallas show in over two decades tomorrow night at the Granada Theater. Before the show wil be a screening of the new documentary on his life and recent recovery from drug-induced mental illness called “You’re Gonna Miss Me” (also the title of the most famous song by his 60′s band, 13th Floor Elevators). Tickets are still available. Perhaps, I’ll see you there!
