The Vulcan
A huge sculpture by Eduardo Paolozzi called the Vulcan carefully walking through the café in Edinburgh’s Gallery of Modern Art like a benign transformer.

the place where Neil Young was busking 35 years ago
I was taking some reference shots (a few weeks ago) just by the place where Neil Young was busking 35 years ago, just behind the guy with the bicycle.

Alasdair Gray drawing
I was meaning to contribute a picture to a small show of famous Glaswegians or “famous weegies”. When I helped out Alasdair with his mural last year I wanted to do a picture of him working in his West end flat (such high ceilings) at his desk with his books and paintings. I missed the show running out of time but wanted to finish it anyhow.

Wha daur meddle wi’me?
For the last couple of weeks I’ve been working as an assistant (on a large scale mural) for the author/artist Alasdair Gray. Here’s Alasdair and assistant Ella checking emails before the start of the day working where we walked around the West End taking photos for reference. A good day.

Feishin
A few weeks ago I accidentally came across a small cottage where the owner had a small menagerie of birds including ravens, hawks, vultures and even a noisy kookaburra. Ravens are one of my favourite birds of the corvid family. Although they’re really intelligent they aren’t in any way "pets" and I wasn’t tempted to pat it on its head as that beak just looked pretty scary. It was weird watching it (and it me) just move about constantly curious, checking things out with an acute awareness.
This one is called Feishin which is Gaelic for Young Raven. It was the runt of the litter and had to be saved as it was found in poor health tangled up in twine abandoned.
I’m planning to use this image for a mixtape cover.

It was a small mini festival in Glasgow’s Argyle street last weekend with band, food and craft things going on
